Feb 21st -22nd.  Acrylics Unleashed. Techniques and textures. Exploring ranges of new paints, knife work and using unusual implements, tryiing out  exciting additives, styles, and combining 'found objects' and collage, with this amazing media. Learning the rules and then breaking them!

March 7th-8th. Painting Water and Reflections. Capturing the wonder and fascination of water in all it's forms...sea. lakes, puddles, waterfalls and rivers, using watercolours or acrylics.  Then combining beautiful watery reflections, that echo their surroundings. Demonstrations and guidance at every stage. A really useful and imaginative course for all painters.

March 14th-15th.  ADDED THIS EXTRA COURSE, DUE TO DEMAND ( March 28th-29th FULL)      

Loose watercolours, Pen, line and wash. A confidence building course, helping to loosen up, without loosing control. Help with creating flowing free watercolours, and assorted penwork that has more 'life' and less 'tightness'. Exercises in capturing the world around you, in various crosshatching and interweaving patterns and effects. We will explore impact and working at speed, using pens and inks and combining these with assorted washes. Buildings, seaside, landscapes, and figures will be explored.

April 4th-5th. Tantalising textures, and exciting 'Mark Making'.... Explore the inspirational possibilities of combining additives to pastes, glues, papers, collage and textiles. Ideal for creating a rich store af abstract patterning, and traditional answers to applying superb weathered and textural effects in nature. This all will be combined with 'Mark Making' ..a fabulous array of drawing and painting lines, using sticks, fingers, pipettes, dribbling inks, runny watercolours, and acrylics, for impact, sudden drama and strong efects. This course will certainly encourage you to take risks, and feel the joy and drive of growing as an artist. The best is yet to come!

May 2nd-3rd. Wonderful Watercolour Pencils....The magic and versality of this media will amaze you!  When used with imaginative and inventive techniques, can produce a wide range of incredible textures, patterns and effects. When taken beyond conventional channels, you can exploit their free flowing colours by using them with sprays  or brushes, rather than just as a drawing instrument. They may be used with water, grated into washes, used dry on top of dried pencil work as glazes, enriching both the colours and depth of your work!  Both traditional and new ideas explored!

July 4th-5th. Garden Corners, flowers, and foliage, in Watercolours, and Mixed Media. Using Wendy's garden as inspiration, we will study how to capture those vital features, such as fountains, pots, greenhouse, and garden statutes.  There will be emphasis on the importance of everyday textures of grasses, rich array of assorted foliage,  flower shapes and colours around you, and how to capture these in an achievable way. We will explore their individual beauty and how to add vibrancy to their colours, and then  place them successfully into an excellent composition..

We will be using  the lovely grounds, gardens and studio at Dedham hall, the village, and visiting various locations nearby.
